What is Meros Law?
Meros Law is a values-driven solo practice supported by a deep network of industry leading professionals and grounded in attentive counsel and long-term responsibility. The firm exists to serve people and organizations facing decisions that shape land, families, and communities over time.
Whether an estate plan for an individual or a complex family held business succession, the work is guided by careful listening, thoughtful planning, and a commitment to steward what has been entrusted with clarity and care.
The practice is led by Chris Gutschenritter, an attorney recognized as a leader in land conservation, real estate, nonprofit and business law with over a decade of experience. Chris works strategically with landowners, families, land trusts, mission-driven and for profit organizations across Wisconsin and beyond, advising on matters that require both legal precision and deep respect for people, place, and purpose.
Chris came to this work through his own family’s experience with agricultural land and generational transition, which continues to shape how he practices law. That background informs a steady, relational approach—one that values service, humility, and partnership.
Chris and his wife Ashley reside in Oconomowoc with their three kids, near the farm he grew up on.
Meros Law draws its name and ethic from the idea of choosing the “good portion”: giving full attention to what matters most, and serving it with care over time.
